Dear God,
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to be a light for people who may be in the dark, and to make a difference in the lives of the people around me.
I ask that you would give me your eyes so that I can see people the way you see them. I want to see their potential and the good they hold inside especially when they are at their worst.
I ask that you would give me your words so that I can speak words of wisdom and kindness. I want my words to be insightful and full of healing especially when the world is speaking the exact opposite.
I ask that you would give me insight into the lives of those around me so that I can understand their actions. I want to see past what they do and know why they do it especially when no one else will care to ask.
I ask that you would give me patience so that I can work through the hard times. I want to be able to work with those around me especially when everyone else has given up on them.
I ask that you would give me passion so that I can show people there are still reasons to be excited on a daily basis. I want people to see the wonders of the universe that you show me every day especially when their own universe seems so limited.
I ask that you would give me an over-abundance of your love so that I can pour that love into others. I want to be an earthly example of who you are, especially for those who have yet to meet you.
You have placed me where I am for a purpose; help me to fulfill that purpose.
